Alexander Devine Santa Dash 2022
Auntie Fizz #TeamSamiStar
My Story
Hi Lovely Humans,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I'm not just hosting the 5KM Windsor Santa Dash run in support of Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service on Sunday 27th November - I'll also be running/ elfing my way around it too!
MY STORY...
Many of you may or may not know that this year has been the most heartbreaking years of mine and my families lives.
On 1st December 2021, I became an auntie again to my gorgeous baby nephew Sami. However life was not as planned when he was born unwell without warning.
------
This time last year I was asked by the incredible team at Alexander Devine to come and spread my Christmas cheer for all to hear at this very event (Sami was not born at that time).
Fast forward a year - I never imagined that I would be standing up on the stage as the MC of the event, after the passing of my nephew at Alexander Devine on 3rd October 2022. No one ever imagines that Alexander Devine will become part of their child's life when they are born, we are still not sure how Sami ended up there and why he left us but the hospice is now the heart and soul of our lives.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude to everyone at Alexander Devine for the end of life care they gave to my gorgeous baby nephew Sami. They took him and my family in and made the unthinkable - thinkable. To have Sami back with us all together.
The team were the beacon of light we needed to give him the most peaceful exit up to the sky even when it was breaking us to the core of our being. He's our #SamiStar. They supported his parents every step of the way, sitting on the floor and holding them through the heartbreak of losing their child. The incredible play team - Liz gave us everything to make life feel a little bit more better for my older 5 year old nephew froggy. He adored her after 2 days and speaks about her daily.
And me - well this is a story no one could have ever predicted. I was always the cheerleader of this charity, as there Elf FizzyWhizz and bunny Fizzles at Easter - but now I was in the flip side, needing their support to help me through too - so I could continue to be my families constant rock.
In a few days I realised how special this place was, it was a place that saved Sami, not a place that took him away. If there's an ounce of love in you, please help me and my fsmily by donating to this incredible place, so they can help more families like mine.
